At the NFB's annual Washington Seminar, members from across the country convene to learn about and advocate for legislative initiatives that will improve the lives of blind Americans. Students play an integral role in this legislative effort, as both individuals that experience access barriers in the classroom and who are the future of our movement. First and foremost, we invite you to work with your state affiliate to get looped into Congressional meetings with your representatives and senators. In addition, we hope that you will check out student specific opportunities for Washington Seminar through NABS.

NABS Washington Seminar Funding Program
(Note: The funding program for 2023 is now closed, but we encourage you to seek funding from your local National Federation of the Blind affiliate and apply for our funding next year.) We are thrilled to be again offering our Washington Seminar Funding Program, which provides partial scholarships to blind students wanting to participate in the full experience of Washington Seminar. Interested students should first work with their affiliate to understand what funding is available through their state, and then fill out our application with this context.
NABS Winter Seminar
Students, teachers, young professionals, and curious minds are always welcome to join us for our annual Winter Seminar. You will have the opportunity to interact with blind students from across the country; learn from successful blind professionals; benefit from informative presentations on topics including scholarships and internships; and prepare for your upcoming Congressional meetings.
